The only way to truly learn a language is to speak to people that use the language on a daily basis. There is no denying that languages can be learnt in a classroom, and by correspondence courses and educational cassettes. But think about it for a moment, the only place where the Queen’s English is spoken today is in ex-British colonies. Language evolves and expands to include sub-dialects and newer words over a period of time, and what no language course ever teaches anyone is the way the language is spoken in the country of origin and also the way the spoken form of the language differs from the written form.
