Virginia was named after the visit of the Virgin Queen Elizabeth I, as she was unmarried. The Virginia Colony was first resided by colonists, from 1607 till the American Revolution. Virginia formed a part to the first thirteen colonies that revolted for freedom in “The American Revolution”, to form the country, what we today call The United States of America”.
