While moving from Atlanta, Seattle or even DC, one thing is always for sure, moving always puts a lot on one's plate. Nevertheless, moving does not have to be a bad experience. The key to a stress free move is to stay completely organized.

The first thing to remember is you must be prepared to do leg work. It will be hard but if you are on a very tight budget it will be worth it. Here are a couple of useful tips to get you on track on cutting back your moving expenses.

A few items to consider purchasing are moving boxes (different sizes), bubble wraps, packing tape, and moving blankets. Start packing a couple weeks in advance. Start with the items you don't use or won't need until after you move. If possible, bring these things to the house early.

Work smarter, not harder and be sure to use appropriate boxes and other packing materials when packing valuable or fragile items. Clean the new house before you move all your possessions in, if it is possible. No need for an explanation here.

Clean any furniture before it is taken inside the new house. You don't want to bring dirt and dust into your home with your furniture. Have a plan as to where your furniture should go in the new house. When moving your furniture into your new home, place it where you want it the first time.
