Sony Ericsson W880i - Play more ... store more
By: Carly Charu

This new device comes through as the thinnest Walkman phone in the genre, and also poses as one of the slimmest 3G handsets in the market.

Like all Walkman phones, the device is centered around music. Thus, each facet of it has been designed to make the musical experience more pulsating and exciting. To begin with, the Sony Ericsson W880i comes with dedicated music buttons. Then, there is a competent music player that is compatible to all popular music formats. Plus, the player comes with wide options to edit and customise tracks. It features an equaliser, and can be set to play tracks in shuffle and repeat mode as well. Another enhancement includes its ability to display album art, and visualisations too. Uploading tracks was easy with Disc2Phone software. The Sony Ericsson W880i comes with a 1GB Memory Stick Micro (M2), that lets you store up to 240 songs.

Apart from music, the other attraction of the Sony Ericsson W880i includes its high speed 3G power, 2-megapixel camera and a VGA camera. Though the camera comes sans focus and flash, it does quite good for clicking casual snaps. For sharing the clicks there is the advantage of Bluetooth and one can also share them in blogs. Other features on the W880i include a flight mode, an RSS feed reader, MMS and SMS messaging, an email client, Pim features ( like a calendar, an alarm clock, tasks), a Bluetooth remote, a voice recorder, video player, a file manager and over-the-air synchronisation, etc. The make of the Sony Ericsson W880i is also vibrant, youthful and energetic. The handset is available in two colours - black and orange, with matte metallic finish on the front and a rear made from plastic that feels like rubber.
