Some Tips for Easter Gifts
By: Allison Mueller

hen people think of holiday gifts, they usually think about Christmas. Don’t forget that Easter is another time for holiday giving. Because Christmas gets all the hype, it’s no surprise that many people are at a loss for what to get for friends and family members when Easter arrives. Granted, Easter is not as big of a gift giving holiday as Christmas, but it’s still a perfect holiday for giving that special someone a gift to show your affection.

Of course, the image that most often comes to mind when one thinks of Easter is the Easter basket. Therefore, one easy gift idea is to make personalized Easter baskets for your loved ones. These baskets can be filled with some of their favorite treats. If you are familiar with their hobbies and pastimes, you should think of adding some fun relevant items to the basket for example, video games, soda, or books. Whatever you fill it with, make the basket personal—fill it with things that you know they like.

Easter brings to most minds thoughts of spring and flowers. Walk outdoors and observe the many plants and greens springing up all over the place. Accordingly, another great Easter gift idea is to give that special someone a basket of flowers and plants. In addition, spring is a time when many begin to start attending to their gardens. Consider getting the gardeners you know perennial seeds that they can plant in their gardens. The gift of flowers is an especially great gift because the plants will continue to grow as the season progresses. Not only that, but at the end of the season, the bulbs will remain to grow again next season. Plants and perennials really make a gift that keeps on giving!

Let’s face it, one of the greatest gifts to receive is food. Why not try something new this Easter? In my experience, one of the greatest treats to get anytime, but especially on Easter Sunday, is cheesecake. Why cheesecake? There’s nothing better than receiving a cheesecake, whether you intend to share it with your family and friends, or keep for it all for yourself. And cheesecake is an easy gift to give, as it is sure to please. Cheesecakes come in a wide variety of flavors including mint chocolate, raspberry, cookie and, of course, new york style cheesecake. Clearly, there’s a cheesecake flavor for everyone’s tastes; even the Easter bunny can’t fail to please if he delivers a cheesecake!

The Easter season is an exciting time of the year; be sure to enjoy the holiday with your family and friends. Don’t let Easter giving bog you down. Put these ideas to work for anyone on your list.
