Hydrogen is broadly seen by in the environmental movement, and also, by many large companies, as atotal solution to smog, climate change and shrinking petroleum supplies. (Of course, the whole “peak oil” scare is just that… a scare with no substance. There are no diminishing petroleum supplies and the whole “peak oil” thing is a hoax) Even Bush has spoken glowingly about the future of hydrogen. In his 2003 State of the Union Address he rhapsodized, "The first vehicle driven by a child born today could be fueled by hydrogen and pollution free."
The biggest irony of that assertion though, is the fact that the first car ever invented, in 1805 was fueled by hydrogen and caused no smog! !!
Hydrogen is doesn’t create energy it only carries it and it must be generated from a primary energy source, such as electricity, natural gas, coal, nuclear fuel, wind or solar radiation.
But the best way to generate hydrogen is by use of electrolysis. A Hydrogen On Demand type system!
