When you are expecting a new baby, one of the most fun parts can be decorating the nursery. You want to create a room that will peaceful and soothing to your new little one, plus, one that has all of the design style and flair that you want to incorporate.
First things first, however. Like any other interior design project, the first step in setting out on your nursery design adventure is to come up with a budget. Make a list of all of the things you will need to put the nursery together - and if this is your first baby, that list can be mighty long. If your list is longer than your budget is deep, prioritize the things on your list. For instance, a crib is an essential. A Beatrix Potter figurine collection is not. Accessorizing can come later and can build up over the years.
If you want a wooden table like a picnic table, there are a few different ways you can get one. First of all, you can simply buy one from a shop. Home improvement stores, hardware stores and even some department stores all sell picnic tables that are ready to be transferred to your backyard and put to use that night. Of course, if you are the handy sort and want to save a little cash, you can build your own picnic table.
Once your budgetary restraints are under control, you can tackle the fun stuff - coming up with a theme for the nursery decoration. If you know if you are having a boy or a girl, you can be led in your decorating by this knowledge. Of course, if you don't, or even if you do, gender based nursery decorating is not required. You can choose literally any theme that you want in decorating your nursery. While some people want the nursery to fit in with the dcor of the rest of their home, others use the nursery as an interior design playground, where fanciful ideas out of place in the rest of the home can come alive. Make use of the internet and magazines to get the creative juices flowing. |
