Milk is also high in magnesium which will also help you to sleep at night. Another component of milk that helps people sleep is the protein tryptophan which is needed by the body to produce melatonin that regulates sleep.

Another cause of insomnia is a problem in your natural body clock. Your body clock is the one responsible for regulating your sleep. A screwed up biological makes people sleepless during the night. The might think that the night is day and vice versa. What you can do to resolve this problem, you need to catch ample sunlight in the morning and turn off all the light when you go to sleep at night.
