Love with Martin is now in a stagnant mode. We have lived together for 5 months only, and romance is dead.

Now that we’ve got St. Valentine’s only a few short days to go, I am taking action to revive my relationship and make it work like it did in the beginning. I see that if something’s not done, we will never get past the boredom we live through in our lives notwithstanding the feelings and admiration we feel for us still.

So, I began by working on a plan on a piece of paper for the 14th of February.

I make full use of my hours at the office by searching the web for inspiration and I have found what I need.

To start with, I made the decision that I would offer Joe with a special gift – lingerie. I have little time, between office duties and house work to hit the town shops, even on weekends. So, I did a search on the web for a few online stores which sold lingerie. I was not expecting much but the Top Secret Lingerie Shop has what I need. They offers a brilliant selection of corsets, basques, bras, panties, stockings, baby dolls, sexy play wear, seductive nightwear and bridal wear. And it’s saved me an incredible amount of time. I selected 2 pieces of sexy lingerie and placed the order. Delivery was surprisingly swift, and I am overjoyed with my selections.

Now, I have reached phase two of my plan. We moved in together a few months ago and given that our apartment is really small, together we opted to throw away as much as possible we both had from before. As a result, we didn’t even have a stereo. It also means we dont even have any music. But how else can I set the mood without some breathless, jazzy sound rolling in the background.

Again, I visited the online stores and got my credit card out. After a few hours comparing prices between various stereos available, I decided on a Panasonic stereo and placed the order. Great customer service was very much appreciated and the order has already arrived too. I have it hiding in the cupboard.

Part 2 of step 2 is the music. There are tons of sites offering music downloads. Beats going downtown to a megastore where I have to buy a whole CD. In the Music Blog, I checked out the reviews of the best music available. I found Ares, opened an account and have been joyfully downloading some amazing music almost on hourly basis. Its great fun. I’m rediscovering ballads I had not listened to since University and it is overwhelming.

Right, now the plan is complete. On Valentine’s Day, I will go to the local deli for a bottle of Port wine. I’ll return home, have a warm bath and put on my new lingerie. All will be ready by the time George arrives home. George won’t know what hit him. At least, that is how the idea is playing in my head.

The plan has to work. If our relationship doesn’t get a revamp, we won’t make it. I can’t let that happen. Besides, no matter how many years you have with a mate, you have to keep the flame burning. And that means, we have to work on it every single day.
