Most people will have to either update or create a resume at some time in their career. As this is something that many people do not have a lot of experience with, it can seem like a daunting task. However, by following a few simple steps, anyone can learn how to make a resume that will stand out and grab any potential employers attention. How your resume looks is just as important as the information it contains. One simple idea is to print your resume on paper that is different from everyone else’s. Choosing a type of paper that is slightly thicker than usual, slightly larger than normal and in a color other than white can immediately grab the attention of anyone who is looking at dozens of resumes that are otherwise all identical. Another thing you can do is to alter the font that you use to print your resume. The majority of people will simply use the default font of their word processor program. It can be to your advantage to choose a different one. As long as you make sure that it is not too fancy or hard to read, then this is a quick way to make your resume noticeable. The basic information you must include when learning how to make a resume includes your past job experience, educational background, as well as nay relevant skills that apply to the job at hand. It is standard practice for a resume to be no more than one or two pages. Any more than that will probably never get looked at as most employers receive hundreds of applications for each position advertised.
