I'd be willing to bet that you've at least heard of the iPhone, Apple's new mobile phone with a host of fancy new features. Maybe if you're lucky, you may even have one. Well good for you, the iPhone is a sweet little piece of technology...but isn't there something missing? Aren't there supposed to be downloads for it? iTunes can supply them, but wouldn't you prefer something that didn't kill your bank account?
Don't get me wrong...iTunes will probably work okay, but there are alternatives. Cheaper alternatives. iTunes isn't exactly what we'd call "inexpensive." Doesn't iTunes even charge a dollar PER SONG? Ten bucks for an album? Yeah, see...that just doesn't do it for me.
I have yet to join the exclusive Inner Circle of iPhone Users, but when I do I fully intend on juicing it up with all my favorite audio and video downloads...can you say "Barry Manilow's Greatest Hits?" Paying a buck a pop to fill up 8 gigs of hard drive space just doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies. As much as I love Barry, just about anything gets old pretty fast, and when you have to drop 20 bucks or more every time you need some spice in your life...it makes your wallet rather sad.
You show me a download-powered portable audio player, and I'll show you an expensive habit. Being a 19 year-old college kid myself which makes me the iPhone's target customer, I think I can reasonably state for most of us that having to shell out a Jackson every couple weeks doesn't exactly fit into a college budget. I mean, the phone itself is $600, so who has the money to waste on endless downloads?
Well, what would you think if I let you in on a little secret Apple doesn't want you to know? What if I told you that you don't have to pay ridiculous sums of money to get your downloads from iTunes, and that there was another place to get your downloads for a LOT cheaper?
Eww, nice job drooling on my shoes. I just bought these things! Now I'll have to take it out of my clothing budget...
Back to the point...it's true. There IS actually a program and service package similar to how Limewire works, and it's specifically built for iPhone users. For less than the cost of loading up your iPhone a single time, you can get lifetime access to unlimited downloads for your iPhone. This is more than just audio, too...they have all sorts of multimedia files, including videos, movies, even TV show episodes. Oh, and it's a decentralized p2p system, which means no program liability, which means no Napster-type crash.
Aww, man...now you're drooling on my NEW shoes. Cut that out! Go look at this other site on Hubpages...you can get some more info on the site itself, and if you decide that you'd rather save money in the long run rather than just letting the iLeeches gnaw at your bank account for the rest of your natural life, you can get to actual site from there too. |
