Before you can use any program, you often should create an installation using a software installer. Most programs are distributed in a packed form. For developers there are ample possibilities to make their releases more successful using commercial or freely distributed application installer. For those who work with Windows system, there is a popular solution called Microsoft Windows Installer that lets programmers create installation. There are a lot of other commercial installation software solutions you can find for Windows XP: InstallShield, Smart Install Maker and some others. Most such solutions make distributives that offer a consistent experience for users installing different solutions. Not happy with commercial installer creator programs? Those who prefer open source applications might check out Innosetup and a couple more applications that can be obtained freely. Many software programs these days are made for more than one platform.

Programmers usually find the task of making install setups for each of the platforms to be quite difficult. If each installer creator for each system be it Linux, Windows XP, Mac OS or some other system was developed individually, it would require additional workload,that is extra time in development and testing to guarantee a satisfactory experience to users. The good news is, though, that you there are alot of multi-platform install maker programs. Java specialists who prefer open source projects may go for Java install creator IzPack.. If something has been installed once, may have to be removed later. Some years ago many programs could not be uninstalled properly without the help of dedicated 3rd-party solutions. 3rd-party uninstallers are seldom used in such a way now, because they are often less effective than standard uninstallers. In spite of everything those 3rd party uninstallers are used today. Many solutions have features that are not erased by the standard uninstall program. Trojan and spyware solutions pose one more challenge to your computer. If the soultion you have just installed appears to have some bad intentions, a 3rd party uninstaller might prove to be the thing you need.
