Giving a successful interview can be very easy, as long as you prepare. Some people find them easier than others, but the best people always do all the hard work before the interview begins. You should always focus on selling yourself to the company and to market yourself in a positive light.

Even if you have great experience and are knowledgeable about the job you are applying for, you won't succeed unless you know something about the company. Never go to an interview without learning about the company first. You need to show them that you would be good for their company and arriving without this vital knowledge is no way to do this.

A great way to learn about the company is to use the internet. You'll be able to get all the information that you require including who the key members of staff are. You should look at all the pages of their site and familiarise yourself with all their services/products.

When called for an interview, ask to whom you will be talking to. It is nice to be able to greet your interviewer by name at the beginning of the interview without first being told who they are. It shows that you are on top of things, and have prepared before hand.

If you get nervous at interviews it is a good idea to practice answering the questions you think you'll be asked beforehand. Practice the wording you will use and also the tone of your voice. Keep your answers short as possible, while at but with as much detail as you can manage.

Choose what clothes you are going to wear the day before. This allows you to make sure there are no creases or stains on your clothes. Choose clothing that suits the environment you will be working in. Ladies should avoid anything that shows too much flesh and for men, a dark suit would be good.

The day before the interview get everything ready that you will need. take an extra CV in case you are asked and a pocket notebook which may come in handy. If you have had any business cards printed, take one along, it looks business-like and may prevent the interviewer from forgetting your name.
