Get sweaty: Detox your way to optimum health
By: Spencer Randon

It is a fact that each year we are exposed literally thousands of toxins and pollutants in our air, water, food and soil. These manmade substances that we were never designed to easily deal with can accumulate in our bodies. These can have long effects including decreased immune function, neurotoxity, hormonal dysfunction, psychological disturbances and even cancer. Detoxification is our body's natural process of eliminating or neutralizing these toxins via the liver, the kidneys, going to the toilet, breathing and perspiration.

The body's natural balance can be restored by undertaking a programme of detoxification

Up to 30% of the body's waste products can be emitted through the skin which is also known as the body's third kidney

Artificial Fever which is when the body's core temperature rises above its normal level of 98.6(37C) is one of the best ways to detox. This can be done by using a steam sauna, classic sauna or Infrared sauna.

Perspiration expels 30% of the body's waste through the skin including complex organic compounds and heavy metals.

The use of a sauna or sweat bath helps in the production of White blood cells, vital for the body's natural defences

Artificial Fever detoxification has been proven to be the only detox programme that can remove fat-stored toxins.

Artificial fever or hypothermia occurs at much faster rates in a steam bath than in a classic or Infrared sauna. This is due to the sweat being trapped on the skin in the 100% humid environment, that cannot evaporate and cool the body. it is for this reason that a steam bath only takes 10-15 minutes compared to the 20-25 minutes required for the same result from a Sauna.

By using Classic, Infrared or Steam Sauna the results are excellent and coupled with a healthy diet and plenty of water marked improvements in skin tone and overall wellbeing are common.
