Creating your own picture is one of the most rewarding and relaxing of pastimes. Right from our early days at school, we are taught to use our imagination as a development process: painting is seen as a very important part of the curriculum. Some of us soon learn that we have the ability to draw, whilst others get pleasure out of colouring from preselected drawings. There is something very therapeutic in making images and it has been with mankind since the earliest cave drawings were made.
Self expression comes out in a person. Choice of subject matter, selection of colouring and background setting are all a matter of personal taste. If you enjoy painting or colouring, but haven’t the inherent skills to draw, you can easily download drawings for this purpose from the internet. There are sites that give a wide range of subjects and themes so you can usually find exactly what you are looking for. If your theme is cows, for example, you simply click on the button that relates to it: you should then find a good selection of excellent drawings you can download by following the instructions, colour at your leisure. The drawings are usually of a very high standard and depict the subject matter in many various ways. Keeping on the cow theme, one of my favourite animals, I found farmyard scenes, individual cow poses, sad-eyed cows, happy-looking cows and a whole lot more.
People wanting inspiration, for maybe making a banner for a party event or office poster for the notice board, can get lots of ideas and inspiration from sites that offer drawings to download for colouring purposes. It can give you a great deal of enjoyment and topics can be made very relevant to the subject that is pertinent to you at the time. If it’s someone’s birthday at work, for example, you could pick a theme and put up a surprise poster before they come. There are so many great uses of making your own pictures and it is a real fun way of passing a nice evening and leaving it overnight to dry and be admired the morning after. |
