Over the years Ciudad Quesada has developed into an award winning urbanization. The urbanization is located on the south facing slopes with wonderful views over the salt lakes of Torrevieja. One of them is an actual working salt lake considered to be the most important in Europe, the other is a nature reserve. One of the lakes continually changes its colour from blue to pink and then to purple. These lakes provide the area with a wonderful microclimate that particularly helps the sufferers of asthma, arthritis and rheumatism which makes it a very popular area to live.
There are also clear views of the Mediterranean Sea glistening on the horizon. As well as views of the mountains and inland plains covered with orange and lemon groves.
This was all created from one man´s dream. In 1972 a Spanish entrepreneur, Quesada Samper had a dream to build a beautiful town, it has taken him over 30 years but his dream has been fulfilled and more. Ciudad Quesada now has it's own Town Hall, making it a town in its own right.
Quesada also has it's own Aqua Park, Golf Course and Social Club with restaurant, live entertainment, bowls and swimming facilities. You will also find many numerous Bars, Restaurants, Shops including newsagents, supermarkets a tobacconist, hairdressers, banks’ with exchange facilities and a medical centre.Ciudad Quesada has it all, it is a secluded paradise, yet close enough to four towns, Torrevieja, Guadamar del Segura, Rojales and Los Montesinos to cater for all types of holiday.
La Marquesa is the local golf course however there are many outstanding golf courses in the area including Royal Campoamor, Las Ramblas, La Finca and Villa Martin where they have, in the past, held the Spanish Open, as well as La Marquesa which is part of the Ciudad Quesada urbanization.
Quesada is close to many typically Spanish towns including Torrevieja, Guadamar del Segura, Elche, with one of Europe’s largest palm forests, Santa Pola, famous for its seafood, Alicante, an exciting Spanish city and Benidorm, which is only one hours drive away.
The neighbouring town of Rojales has it´s own medieval market that is held in the region of the caves once a year. It also has a unique bar in one of the caves which has live jazz every Friday night.
There is something for everyone in Quesada and it´s surrounding regions. |
