In 1911, two men joined their ideas together which resulted in the birth of Chevy. William C. Durant found himself ousted from his own company, General Motors, and this led him to turn to race car driver, Louis Chevrolet. Chevrolet allowed the use of his expertise and apparent knowledge in designing cars to help Durant create a company of his own in order to build his reputation after his ouster from General Motors. After making and selling enough cars to the American people, Durant would have enough to regain his seat as the head of General Motors. Chevy was integrated into General Motors as one of its divisions in 1916. With the company’s integration to General Motors, Chevy would release one of its early success stories in the form of the Model D V-8 series. This early car seated 4 passengers and ran on an engine that produced 35 hp with a three speed transmission.
The years went by and Chevy continued being a part of the American people’s daily lives. Even though there were setbacks such as the Great Depression, Chevy managed to bounce back with the release of the Impala in 1958 and the Corvair in 1960. These two Chevy models helped catapult the car company to the top of the consumer market. The popularity of the Impala and the Corvair marked a golden age for Chevy with one out of ten cars in the United States as their own.
Users of Chevy are mostly from the United States of America but they are also distributing their vehicles outside of the American market. Chevy has a presence in Mexico, Venezuela, Europe, The Middle East, Pakistan, India, Thailand, Japan, South Africa and Russia. Chevy models which include the Colorado, Trailblazer Express and the Aveo are sold outside of the United States and they are even manufactured outside of American soil. Along with their numerous models, Chevy parts are also available to service the needs of the car owners. All of these models rely on Chevy parts to keep the car in top shape.
Using their Slogan, “An American Revolution” in the United States and “The Feeling Is Different”, Chevy aims to step up its campaign with cars such as the Impala, the Silverado, the Tahoe and the Suburban. Along with these cars, Chevy parts are also abundant and easy to obtain for the maintenance of various Chevy models. |
