An effective way to cut down malicious emails from your employees -- put them through effective teambuilding programs
By: Len McGrane

Studies show 2.8 billion email messages are generated every day by US employees. That is almost unbelievable!

It's correct that all this email can slash the cost of paper and associated items. However, this flood of email has the same potential to build a negative attitude towards the business, if unhappy employees start sending out complaints onto the web.

An effective corporate team building program can go a long way to meeting this email threat. Here are a couple of reasons for this.

Firstly, they generate loyalty

One reason for this is that team members usually tend to develop friendships with the others. So its difficult to dislike the business that the others all like! Further, a good team supports each members to work better, and when we're performing at our jobs we naturally feel good about the company that hires us.

Moreover, team building programs often link members together.

A fairly low-cost team building event like free tickets to a concert or sporting event, or a more costly one like giving everyone's family a free holiday, give team members the opportunity to come to know each other more, in a new situation, in a relaxed mood. There are also the programs that train rather than entertain, using formal adult games and role plays. Through these, members face situations that make them increasingly confident in their colleagues, give them an appreciation of their fellows, and almost always leave them thinking it is very positive being part of the team.

With teams like this, what kind of emails will members most likely be sending out? Emails that complain, or spotlight company faults, and pull at the company reputation? Almost certainly not.

If a company runs effective team building programs, productivity will normally go up. However, at the same time, these events can also develop company loyalty and tie team members together in a way that counters anti-company email propaganda.
